  • B. Devincre was born in France in 1965. He is married and father of two sons.
  • He graduated from the Formation d'Ingénieur de l'Université Paris Sud Orsay (FUIPSO), and did his PhD at the Université d'Orsay (UPS).
  • After a Post-Doc in the material department of Oxford University, he joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in 1994.
  • He is currently at the Laboratoire d'Etude des Microstructures (LEM) jointly run by the Office National d'Etudes et de Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA) and CNRS.
  • He and his collaborators developed original simulations based on Dislocation Dynamics (DD) at the meso-scale. His main interests are in linking the dynamical properties of crystal defects and the mechanical properties of material. His research is concerned with the plastic properties of pure metals, alloys and heterostructures like thin films or Metallic Matrix Composites.
  • He has written over 70 articles (see a selection of articles).
