Frank-Read source in a small simulation volume with PBC
Formation of a dipolar microstructure with one Frank-Read source in a small volume with periodic boundary conditions PBC. Dipoles are formed in the many glide planes visited by the dislocation lines emitted from the source.
As a result of dislocation cross-slips and collinear annihilations between dislocations line with opposite Burgers vectors, real dipolar dislocation microstructures are usually made of edge dislocation dipolar loops. Such patterns are well reproduced in the simulations including the influence of cross-slip.
